--These files are a direct transfer from the master cassette made by Luke McCormick at Barnard Springfest on Friday, April 14, 1989.  This is a significant improvement over SHNID # 13921, which is a C(2) version of the same recording.
--The tape captures Blues Traveler as its career was taking off.  The band had been playing for a while with members of Dreamspeak and the Spin Doctors at a Columbia fraternity, Delta Phi, and was playing local clubs like Nightingales, Mondo Perso, 712 Club, and Wetlands (opened February 1989), as well as free concerts in Prospect Park and at local colleges (RealityFest at SUNY Albany was the following day, the 15th).  
--The taper, a member of the Phi and friend of the band, decided to "matrix" the SBD and AUD feeds by recording each to a separate channels, but this resulted in a 12 ms delay between channels.  This delay is audible and present in all other circulating recordings.  Here, the delay has been removed and each mono feed mixed to stereo.  (From the start through Rock Me Baby, the SBD feed was barely present and thus the first two tracks are mostly AUD.)
--The master cassette is marked 04/13, which is incorrect.  All circulating copies come from it and some are also misdated as April 13, which some folks stubbornly cling to.  The correct date is April 14, because...

When you go to Bluestraveler.net and look up the show archive there is only one show older than this.  This is the ultimate Blues Traveler begining.  Being new to the BT fan group listening to old school is the ultimate joy to me.  

Ok this is my first shn so I won't take any offense to any criticism.

I started off with a soundboard 2 gen cassette that was made 5+ years ago. The sound on the cassette was acceptable, but there were some obvious errors. 

1) First track Rock Me Baby was only recorded on right channel (problem from master) Repaired by copying right track to replace left dead air.
2) In between the two sets there was a drum solo and an a cappella group performed. The drum solo was most likely done in front of the stage, or on the stage. The volume is soft at first, but once they get jamming it rocks. The drum solo was boosted in amplitude during the warm-up (some static resulted).
3) The a cappella group "Notes & Keys" was performing on the left side of the stage. The amplitude was boosted on the left track and the left track was copied to right.
4) The second song performed by Notes & Keys was cut short by the tape ending.
5) In shntool track 5 & track 8 come up as not being cut on track sectors.  Not sure what this meant or how to fix if it is a problem.

Changed source info per Luke McCormick's notes, who taped the show:

4/13/89 - the barnard tape is Half SBD, half AUD.  I used one Nak100 mic, with the other channel of the D5 plugged into the soundboard.  It was an outdoor show on a grassy field, so the quality of the audience channel is really good.

Also fixed a few typos and aligned the track timings. I decided not to fix the sector boundaries mentioned above since they happen during set changeovers.

Since this show was seeded in SHN, with seektables separately and had the aforementioned SBE's, I thought I'd fix both issues before uploading to archive.org. Re-encoding and SBE fixes performed with xACT 1.58.
