Taper Notes:
View NotesPart of my Original Master Rescue Project. Notes: Another hand-crafted, gluten-free yet granola-driven, artisanal recording product from, well, me. This is the third set of tapes I ever made, with brand-new equipment and no experience, and still in remarkable condition. If I had to go back, I'd use cardioid heads - the Greek was so small that shotguns could focus on such a small section of the stack that you might miss out on a full mix of one or more members of the band; and you got less audience, which is kind of the point of an Audience tape. This one was a bit harder, as Set I ran long, and my lack of experience began to tell as I ran out of tape and had an odd flip right before, well kinna during the beginning of Black Peter... another in our long list of taper tragedies not even close to averted. 20th Anniversary of the Summer of Love. Ebullient, a bit messy! Brent came to the show with bells on, literally, using them as a midi effect (in other shows and songs this summer as well, I think,), and having some other fun in other songs. There are moments of static & pops during the Box & Ease that are tough. Superior Crazy Fingers. "...the best of the three Greeks," amusing mic/lyric issues causing Bobby to goof on an audience member mid-Alabama Getaway: "Whatter you laughin' at?" The second "Masterpiece." "...muscle. it is the dead entering their latter phase, yet it's youthful and powerful. the band and the audience are PRESENT," (Archive.org commenter). "We're thinking." (Bob, before Cumberland Blues). "Let's polka!"" (Bob right before the Garcia solo in Mexicali.) Source: Previously unreleased Cassette original master. Only posting in 96/24 to keep the sound quality up, and because I have a big pile to get through... feel free to down sample it with r8brain (a free download,) if you need, but I officially object.
