Taper Notes:
View NotesPart of my Original Master Rescue Project. Notes: Another hand-crafted, gluten-free yet granola-driven, artisanal recording product from, well, me. This is the first tape I ever made, with brand-new equipment and no experience, and still in remarkable condition. If I had to go back, I'd use cardioid heads - the Greek was so small that shotguns could focus on such a small section of the stack that you might miss out on a full mix of one or more members of the band; and you got less audience, which is kind of the point of an Audience tape. Jerr Garcia is using his creaky voice to particular effet here. Bobby is particularly great during Roses, a version so good it makes my nose run. Terrapin was widely appreciated, and my case notes say Space was also pretty funky. Reviews of these shows on Archive are short of "best of," but I say, screw those whiners, these were fantastic shows! Ebullient, a bit messy! Source: Previously unreleased Cassette original master. Only posting in 96/24 to keep the sound quality up, and because I have a big pile to get through... feel free to down sample it with r8brain (a free download,) if you need, but I officially object.
